Corretto Dee Why

An all-day diner located a stone's throw from the beach in northern Sydney.

Overview

Dee Why locals have scored a new all-day eatery in the form of Corretto — a European-style diner owned by Sydney hospo veteran Kurtis Bosley (CBK Hospitality Group, Bar Moncur, Four in Hand, The Royal) and run by bar manager Tua Fatongiatau (Marble Bar).

The space reflects its surrounding beachside location with a Mediterranean-inspired fit-out. Think a sea blue tiled main bar, floor-to-ceiling bi-fold windows that let in the ocean breeze and soft blue murals adorning the walls.

You can head here for brekkie and order the requisite smashed avo ($18) and eggs benny ($18), as well as zucchini fritters with labneh, heirloom tomatoes and chilli jam ($20). Or, if you're looking for something with a little bite, look to the chilli scrambled eggs with chorizo and parmesan on sourdough ($18).

The main menu (available for lunch and dinner) has a focus on fresh seafood. On it, there are tuna tacos with edamame hummus and Sriracha aioli ($16); baked parmesan scallops with prosciutto and asparagus ($24); and crudo with beetroot, cucumber and grapefruit ($22).

Those not too keen on seafood have plenty to chose from, too, with mushroom gnocchi ($33), wagyu beef burgers ($22), burrata ($12) and slow-cooked brisket with pickles and coleslaw ($18) all making appearances.

The drinks list is equally fitting for the venue's seaside digs, with the Salty Dawg for $12 (tequila, black lava salt and grapefruit), barrel-aged Mid Morning Negroni ($18) and coconut pisco-spiked Spritzing–Vacay ($18). Head in during happy hour from 4–6pm daily, when the bar is slinging two-for-one cocktails and $20 jugs of rosé sangria.
