Overview
The team behind The Grounds of Alexandria has brought a slice of old-school America to the CBD. Park St. Diner is a glass-walled, American-style diner on the corner of Park and Pitt streets, complete with themed uniforms, an 80s pop soundtrack, teal booths and plenty of retro details. The honey-butter pancakes are thick, fluffy, and roughly the size of a dinner plate, while the crispy hash browns are well worth adding on. They also have cheeseburgers, sundaes, and Cherry Coke floats if you're leaning fully into the diner experience.
The best part is that you don't have to squeeze your visit into breakfast hours. In true diner style, it's open until 10pm, so you can drop in for a late lunch, an after-work burger or a dessert-and-Coke-float situation. It's often busy, and the soundtrack isn't exactly designed for quiet concentration, but the booths make it a fun place to sit with a laptop for a while or catch up with a friend. The big windows also make for excellent people-watching as the CBD shifts from workday rush to evening mode.
