Overview

Single O has become a CBD essential, giving York Street workers something to look forward to on their morning commute. There aren't many who take their coffee as seriously as the team at Single O — and its rotating roster of house-roasted single origins and blends are worth leaving home early to try.

Fans of batch brew are covered, too, with a subscription (you'll actually use) giving you endless refills across seven days for just $16. You can use it at the Single O CBD and Surry Hills stores and at the Saturday Carriageworks Farmers Market stall.

The CBD hole-in-the-wall is designed by big gun design firm Luchetti Krelle and boasts a standing bar, where you can take a damn second to enjoy your cup of joe and tasty snack, and admire a ceiling installation by artist Renuka Fernando. Speaking of snacks, the cafe has dropped a new menu of hearty stews, NLTs (which stands for next level toasties, of course) and loaded crumpets.

On Wednesdays, you can rock up to the CBD store and celebrate making it (almost) halfway through the week with the Crump Day deal: two sweet or savoury crumpets and a coffee for $13. Options include bacon, avo and chipotle; smoked salmon and feta; strawberry gum, coconut and candied pecans; or banana and dulce de leche.

In addition to the new menu, the Single O banana bread with espresso butter ($6) and BBQ bacon 'n' egg roll ($10) classics are both still on offer.
