If you're going to truly get to know a suburb, ask a local. Bondi's full of proud neighbours, from top chefs like Maurice Terzini to Bondi's Surf Life Savers to fashion monarchs like Pip Edwards. Pip's worked with the likes of Ksubi and Sass & Bide, and is now kicking goals as General Pants's design director. She's also just launched her own sporty luxe label P.E. Nation, which is killing it already.

Pip's a bonafide Bondi local, who knows the difference between a tourist trap eatery and damn good local pizza — so it makes sense she's just been appointed an experience curator and partner with the just-opened QT Bondi hotel (Bondi's newest local). We asked Pip to hand over her go-to Bondi spots, her favourite places for shopping, eating and keep healthy in Sydney's most famous beachside suburb. Write 'em down for next time you're beachbound.

LONG LAZY DAYS AT ICEBERGS

"The Icebergs Pool would have to be hands down the most picturesque way to view Bondi Beach. It boasts the best perspective of our gorgeous city beach — the blue skies and beating sun reflect off the white surroundings and almost makes you feel like you are immediately on holiday (even in your own backyard). I race to get to Icebergs Pool on the weekends. I love to set up camp and just hang out all day long. I sometimes even jump in the sauna, only cool off again in the fresh beach pool water. The best way to end the day at Icebergs Pool is to then make your way up to Icebergs Dining Restaurant and Bar, where Maurice Terzini will greet you with his Italian fabulousness and will serve you the best Bloody Mary in all of Bondi."

MEATBALL SALADS AT THE SMALL SHOP AND WINE BAR

"One must head to the original Small Shop and Wine Bar on the corner of Curlewis Street and Glenayr. A very close local of mine. It's best in the afternoon sun, where all the locals chill and sip on wine and devour the famous meatball salad and antipasto plates. Run by a super gorgeous couple with two cute boys, I absolutely love the intimacy and relaxed vibe of The Shop."

PIZZA AT DA ORAZIO

"Pizza at Da Orazio. No more needs to be said. It's the best pizza you will ever have. Such a cool pizzeria, awesome menu, great drinks, great music and great people. It has a real buzz and is super fun — a guaranteed great experience."

WORKING OUT AT BEACHFIT GYM/F45 TRAINING

"I frequent BeachFit regularly. It's my local gym, with an F45 training room out the back and a yoga studio upstairs. Literally in the heart of Bondi, it's actually become a bit of a social scene too — all part of that Bondi lifestyle."

RETAIL THERAPY AT GOULD STREET SHOPS

"Every time I walk down Gould Street to get my coffee from Sonoma, I can't help but wander into General Pants and Tuchuzy. I literally walk in every day to check out what's on the racks. It's become an expensive habit — and I love it. From denim through to designer, Gould Street has it all."
