Overview

Situated in the heart of the city, the site is a perfect location to chill out after work and taste test a few of the tasty beers on offer. With its wood and brick aesthetic, both high and low tables, the bar is appropriate for both group hangouts, and the individual connoisseur seeking some alone time with a drop of whats going.

If you're not sure what to try, there are two tasting trays available - one with six beers ($22), the other with eight ($28). I was advised to try their 6.4% APA,  the DogFather. Its popularity saw it almost sell out in less then a week after its release, but with refreshing citrus flavors and perfect balance of hops, it's no surprise the growlers have been running out the door. As well as selling their own beers, Black Dog offer a variety of craft beers from other local breweries.

Besides serving beers to drink in house, their tap beer is available for takeaway. The bar taps are specially designed to ensure the lifespan of your brew, allowing it to last more then just a few days. For this reason, they don't allow you to bring your own growlers, but instead have their own available to buy on site.

Tasty bar snacks are available too and staff are there to help you pair your food and brews. They have also cleverly collaborated with local businesses and offer a few nearby restaurant's dishes if you're after something more substantial. You can feast on a meal from Monsoon Poon or Little India brought in from just down the road.
