Overview

Grab those those tuning forks dig into a sonic spread with New Zealand's first Audio Arts Festival.

Composed by the New Zealand School of Music, the Aotearoa Audio Arts (AAA) Festival explores everything aural. The program is jam-packed, with two evening concerts at City Gallery Wellington and a three-day exhibition at Potocki Paterson gallery.

Not only will the festival be a sound celebration, it promises to be a full sensory experience. Both venues will be brimming with performances, panel discussions and installations. Every note of this festival will be something different with a great mix of international and local artists. Amongst the artists contributing to the score are the prolific Nicolas Bernier (Canada), and Myriam Bleau (Canada). Both of these artists combine physical materials with light and sound to create unique and interactive installations. Additionally, Richard Chartier, a key figure in audio art, will also be pitching in with his own brand of minimalist sounds. You will also be able to tune into our a local art scene with many pieces by Kiwis artists, including Rob Thorne, Flo Wilson, and Bridget Johnson.
