Any plans for international escapes have been put on ice for 2020, but that doesn't mean you can't indulge in a bit of escapism. And, no, we're not just talking about daydreaming and spending hours scrolling through Pinterest.

New Zealand Venue Co is helping to ease the wanderlust a touch by transforming its pubs and restaurants into some of the world's most popular holiday destinations for summer. In Wellington, you'll be able to sip frozen margaritas surrounded by cacti.

At Dirty Little Secret's Mexican Fiesta guests can escape for a while with an extensive margarita menu offering both spicy, fruity and frozen tipples. The pop-up event from 18 November to 31 January will also serve up two hours of bottomless tacos for $25 per person every Wednesday and a Mexican-inspired bottomless brunch.

At the latter guests can choose one themed brunch item such as nachos, huevos rancheros and bacon enchiladas as they sip bottomless margaritas and listen to a live mariachi band. The brunch runs every Sunday at 11am, 11.30am and 12pm and is $50 per person. Bookings are essential.
