Overview

Wellington creative Alexandra Murcott, who may be better known as her artist pseudonym, Moena Moxham, is about to embark on her residency program at MeiPAM Gallery in Japan. Before she heads off on her journey of uninterrupted artistic discovery, there will be an exhibition showcasing her work at In Good Company, for just ten days.

Alexandra’s art is vibrant, eclectic and plays with a range of techniques, mediums, formats and styles. A mixture of drawing, modelling and mixed media through the likes of collage, her work ranges from rough and raw, to brilliant sculptures crafted from bronze and intricate etched glass art. The works are filled with cultural and temporal references, although simultaneously open for interpretation and imaginative readings.

Opening night will see DJ Takas play amongst the art, and Parrot Dog craft beers flowing for viewers. All proceeds from the event will help Alexandra on her adventure, which will consist of art workshops, community events and developing a collection of work to be shown in the same gallery upon her return.
