Overview
The latest addition to Press Hall is here and it's spicy, creamy, flavourful and oh-so delicious. Joining other favourites such as Tommy Millions, Bao Boy and Yoshi, Indian Alley has made its mark as the first Indian restaurant to join the upmarket food court.
Home to some of Wellington's best on-the-run eateries, Press Hall is a beautifully designed food court on Willis Street. Since picking up the 2018 Urban Design Award at Wellington Property People Awards, as well as being crowned the supreme winner, Press Hall has been buzzing with lunch-goers. So, with an impressive variety of cuisines available it just made sense that Neha and Sushant Chandna would bring their fresh, spicy and authentic Indian cuisine to the space.
Unlike your typical Indian restaurant, the team at Indian Alley strives to create a very different curry experience. "What we are trying to achieve is to serve that rich cultural diversity on a plate, with consistent flavours, by using real ingredients," says Neha. Each dish has a unique and complex set of flavours, with unlikely combinations and contemporary cooking methods making this Indian eatery stand out from the rest.
Indian Alley is also the perfect spot to score a tasty curry, rice and naan combo without breaking the bank. With prices sticking mostly under $20 a dish, you can enjoy your favourite Indian dishes any day of the week. It also offers a range of cost-effective lunch deals, including options under $10 and the $13.99 takeaway option, with your choice of curry from the buffet, rice, one plain naan and a drink.
Dig into classic Indian cuisine favourites, such as butter chicken, vindaloo, vegetable korma and chana masala, or try something a little further out of your culinary comfort zone. Indian Alley specialises in one of the best buffet-style lunch options in our city. Find everything from chicken tikka, lamb seekh, jalfrazi, malai kofta and chicken wings on the unlimited lineup. The lunch buffet deal costs $19 per person and includes five curries (veg and non-veg options), rice and naan. Unlike other buffets, you're not required to fill your plate up all at once — instead, take your time and enjoy each dish before moving on to the next.
You'll also find a well-stocked bar at Indian Alley, including local craft beer from Garage Project. Don't settle for your everyday Indian joint to get your curry fix this lunchtime — experience a contemporary twist on the cuisine with authentic taste and fresh, housemade flavours with the ultimate buffet experience.
