Overview

If you're a Brisbanite with a healthy appetite, there's only one place to be this weekend. Take your rumbling stomach and its yearning for something scrumptious down to James Street, and fill it with tasty treats.

From July 30 to 31, the New Farm precinct becomes a foodie wonderland for the fifth year running, once again highlighting the gastronomic delights of the area. That includes devouring delicious dishes and drinks, of course, regardless of what kind of food, beverage or event takes your fancy. And, for the first time ever, part of the road will even be closed off for the occasion.

Whether you want to feast on Hong Kong or Greek-style meals, sip on wine or liqueurs, or indulge in a mix of beers, burgers and beats, all your culinary dreams are catered for. You an also sample the street's signature concoctions, enjoy a gourmet take on the good ol' sausage sizzle, or get into the swing of things at one of several after parties. If you like your epicurean fun on the chilled side, then head to the urban picnic's array of offerings. Just because it's a food and wine trail doesn't mean you have to get caught up in the hustle and bustle. In fact, we recommend the same approach to eating, drinking and being merry: savouring the moment.
