When invited to the "world's greatest French dinner," cancel all other plans that night; the answer is always oui. On March 21, in over 150 countries on five continents across the globe, restaurants and embassies will host Goût de France to celebrate the country's world-renowned gastronomy by inviting the public to share a French dinner. The event pays tribute to France's vibrant, innovative cuisine and traditional values such as conviviality, generosity and a love of beautiful, nourishing and planet-friendly food.

To honour their French heritage, Hotel Sofitel's Jardin Grill will host Goût de France in Wellington. A mouth-watering five-course menu ($99 per person), with the option to pair it with matching wine ($180 per person), will be on offer: smoked salmon galette, dill macarons, escargot and chorizo risotto, slow-braised Wakanui beef rib, and a Blue d'Auvergne cheese board. For dessert? An Earl Grey crème brûlée with white chocolate and passionfruit macarons.
