In 2018, Wellingtonians went clucking mad for Hot For Chicken, a pop-up from Australian cult favourite Belles Hot Chicken.

For this year's Welly On a Plate festival, the genius behind Belles, chicken king Morgan (Morgy) McGlone returns, but this time he's trading chooks for dogs — hot dogs, that is.

For the opening event of the festival, McGlone will be launching his brand new global dining concept — Morgy's Diner. For the first time anywhere in the world, you'll have the chance to wolf down his epic hot dogs. He'll be joined by Welly hospo legends from The Bresolin, with tipples from Garage Project and Wine Diamonds, to help wash those dogs down.

If Morgy's chicken is anything to go by, you'll need to get in quick before these bad boys are doggone.

Visa Wellington On a Plate, the capital's favourite foodie fiesta, returns in August with a month-long celebration of culinary delights. This year's festival invites you to feast your senses, with a smorgasbord of tantalising events, burgers, dishes and cocktails that'll leave you hungry for more. The festival takes place from 1 August - 31 August, across various venues.
