Overview
The Church, the communications agency who brought Semi-Permanent to New Zealand, presents We Can Create, a symposium for creative industry folk.
Running Friday 26 and Saturday 27 August, the event will see 11 speakers take the stage to present their inspirations, perspectives and creative practices. The speakers include:
Kiwi typeface designer Kris Sowersby, who won his first Certificate of Excellence from the Type Designers Club in New York in 2008, and has since won two more
Karin Fong of Imaginary Forces, named one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People
Amsterdam ad agency Kessels Kramer, whose clients include Nike, Parool and Levi’s
The Rumpus Room out of London, who have combined real world, interactive and social platforms for Coca Cola, Xbox and MAC
Kiwi film maestro Chris Graham, who graduated from film school in NYC and has since directed Sione’s Wedding and psychological thriller, The Ferryman
Although kiwi director Taika Waititi has had to pull out due to a delayed filming schedule, the event promises to delight lovers of graphics, fashion, animation, illustration, motion graphics, typography, sound design, live audio-visual art, interactive and experiential marketing, fine art, music, product design and more.
With satellite events and exhibitions to accompany the line-up, the inaugural conference looks set to become an annual event.
