Want to be surrounded by cute critters, and potentially give one a good home? Want to support the rescue groups and welfare organisations that help look after creatures with nowhere else to go? The RSPCA's annual Big Adopt-Out offers all this, plus that great feeling you get when you're helping a good cause. Basically, it's the nicest way an animal lover could spend a Saturday.

The 2015 iteration also comes with an added bonus, particularly for everyone fond of furry friends of the feline variety. For the first time in the event's three-year run, cats as well as dogs are available for adoption.

Over 150 mousers and pooches of all ages will promise to make your heart melt; however kittens and puppies aren't the only drawcard. Expect food stalls and live entertainment, aka perfect ways to help pass the time while you're deciding which new pet to take with you. Expect vet advice and products to purchase too, ideally for the fresh addition to your family.
