Single O Newstead

Overview

Single O opened its first Brisbane location in 2023, bringing their signature coffee, innovative self-serve batch brew taps and a tight food menu to Newstead. The cafe features Single O's signature coffee and self-serve batch brew taps (serving filter coffee, cold brew and Iced Oat Latte on tap), alongside the Origin Three Way Flight that features a select single origin served three ways: filter espresso, flat white and V60, a manual pour-over coffee.

Current menu highlights include matcha brulee (thick cut brioche loaf with brulee matcha sugar topped with a matcha cream and served with a side of kuromitsu), Reservoir Dog (with brioche bun, LP's pork sausage, caramelised onion, ketchup, mustard, parmesan and dill pickle), and The Avo Show (caraway seed rye, achiote cashew cheese, pickled fennel, seasoned crumb, chili oil, and sweet lemon aspen). If you can't choose, there's always the beloved banana bread toasted with espresso butter.

With the design by Lucheti Krelle and build by Gibson Building Group, the cafe features banquette seating, and a skylight to infuse the space with natural light. The design is a reflection of Single O's philosophy of sustainability, with FSC and PETC certified wood, responsibly harvested and manufactured cork, metal pipe structure made from hydraulic manufacturing waste, and a one of a kind wallpaper artwork created from coffee bags. A standing bar and loan-a-mug system encourages guests to drink on premises to reduce single-use waste.
